Trafalgar Square in the wet at dusk. One of Landseer's bronze lions sits above the crowd on the right, two red buses and a black cab come along the road, and Big Ben and the London Eye stand against an apricot sky. Umbrellas are up, and the pavement throws all of it back in streaks.
The buses, lamp posts and telephone box are quick wins; the reflected light on the wet road is where the hours go. Finished size 69 x 48cm.
Loose painterly brushwork and long stretches of wet-road reflection with soft edges.
