A traditional London pub, Paxton's Head, hung with baskets and window boxes of trailing flowers, its windows glowing gold against the dusk. Hand-painted signs advertise Abbot Ale and guest ales over the doors, a wooden barrel and chalkboard menus stand out front, and a single table has been laid for two with a white cloth and red chairs on the cobbles.
The warm brick, dark woodwork and shadowed interior fill much of the frame, so the flowers and lettered signs are where to start. Finished size 69 x 49cm.
Dark timber and brickwork dominate, with the flowers and glowing windows breaking it up.
