Seasons

A whole year turned through one circle on lavender-blue. Winter sits at the top: a wooden feeder heaped with sunflower seeds, a cardinal, a goldfinch, chickadees, a woodpecker, snow coming down. Autumn falls down the left in orange maple and yellow beech leaves landing on rippled water; spring runs up the right in green foliage, a fox and mice on a log; summer banks along the foot with morning glories, thistles, a bluebird and a swallowtail.

The lavender ground repeats right across the disc and there is no straight edge anywhere, so work outward from the feeder. Finished size 66 x 66cm.
