A green turtle coming through the water with its shell painted like something from a pattern book, every plate worked in a different colour and design. Coral fills the bottom corners in orange and magenta, anemones wave along the edges, and the water above goes from deep blue to that lit turquoise you get near the surface.
A big patterned subject against open water, which is a kinder solve than it looks. Finished size 64 x 64cm.
The open water is a broad graded blue, but the turtle and the coral are full of distinct colour.
