A volcanic ravine on Reunion with cloud pouring over the ridge above it and half the picture already lost in white. The gorge cuts down through dark forest to a river far below, the far slope goes up in ridges of old lava, and the light only reaches the bottom in one narrow band.
Deep green and near-black rock under a large soft bank of cloud. Finished size 69 x 48cm.
