Lady Agnew of Lochnaw by John Singer Sargent – 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Pomegranate)

Gertrude, Lady Agnew, sits back in a bergère chair looking straight out — dark hair, a faint smile, an ivory silk dress with gauzy sleeves, a lilac sash across her waist and a pale blue stone on a fine gold chain at her throat. John Singer Sargent painted her in 1892; the chair is printed with loose red and blue flowers and the wall behind is blue-green watered silk.

The ivory skirt fills the bottom third with almost no detail and the backdrop is barely more varied, so the flowered chair is where you get traction. Finished size 50.8 x 63.5cm
