Four panels and a year between them. Spring has the gardeners at work in a walled plot, summer the harvesters flat out in the corn with one asleep under a tree, autumn the wine being pressed and the pigs driven in, and winter a frozen village with the ice-skaters out and a pig being killed in the foreground.
Four separate paintings, though all of them sit in the same Flemish browns and greens. Finished size 69 x 48cm.
Four crowded panels sharing one narrow range of ochre, brown and olive.
