Ponies at the ford in a New Forest village. A bay mare stands in the shallows with her foal, greys drink at the edge, and a palomino comes right up to the front of the picture. A lad in a striped shirt watches from the bridge with his bike propped beside him, and mallards come in low over the oaks.

The ponies and the water carry most of the detail; the summer canopy overhead is the difficult green. Finished size 69 x 48cm.
