Somebody has cut half the garden and crammed it into one painted vase: lilies, red and cream roses, yellow tulips and tall purple stocks, all spilling over as though the vase were losing the argument. Two hummingbirds have found it already, and one is holding perfectly still at the very top of the lilies.
It stands on a round wooden table with a teacup beside it and a fallen bloom on the wood, and the pinks and creams run right through, which asks you to slow down. Finished size 49 x 69cm
Flower-on-flower petals in closely related pinks and creams.
