An old three-masted ship lies at her mooring in Amsterdam with the Dutch flag at the masthead and not a breath of wind in all that rigging. Her stern is the glory of her: green and gold from the waterline up, tiers of little windows, and a painted figure standing in the middle of it holding court!
Red and yellow run the length of the hull, and the harbour water sits flat as a pond underneath.
