A world map done the way an explorer's would have been, with the continents laid in as loose watercolour so the colour runs past the coastlines in places. There is a compass rose in the bottom left, a sailing ship under full canvas in the southern ocean, a magnifying glass, a whale, and the oceans all named in copperplate.
Two thousand pieces on flat cream paper, which is most of the board. Finished size 98 x 69cm.
The oceans are a vast area of plain cream, so all the progress is in the continents and the ornament.
