Christmas Puppies by the Fireside - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Cobble Hill)

Nine puppies have taken over the good front room and nobody's stopped them. A bulldog puppy sits guard over a stack of striped presents, a Boston terrier's got hold of a candy cane, and there's a Bichon Frise fast asleep on a wooden sled that's clearly not going anywhere tonight. The wood burner's going full blast behind them, which probably explains why half of them look ready to nod off.

It's a busy build with plenty going on — the tartan stocking, the pine cones on the dresser, the wreath on the wall — but each dog is drawn clearly enough that sorting them out shouldn't be too much trouble. The dark wood floor and blue walls give you some good solid blocks of colour to anchor the trickier bits around the tree.

A nice one to get out once the actual tree is up and you fancy something to do by the fire yourself.
