Sunflowers, teacups, a butterfly and a little wooden dog all jostle for space in this collage, along with book covers, vintage labels and a good sprinkling of daisies. Every scrap of it sits somewhere on the yellow scale, from pale lemon china to deep mustard type, which is exactly what makes it such a good sort. You'll find yourself grouping pieces by shade rather than shape before you've even started the edges.

Shelley Davies built this one from hundreds of small collected objects and printed ephemera, and the detail rewards a slow build rather than a race to the finish. It's part of Cobble Hill's Rainbow series, so if you've already got Blue or Green on your shelf, this one lines up alongside them nicely.
