Vogue One Fair Lady - 500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (New York Puzzle Company)

This one's taken from an old Vogue cover, the kind with a cover price of 35 cents printed along the bottom. A woman in profile, her hair piled up and threaded with flowers and butterflies, her face painted in patches of gold, blue and green against a spotted green backdrop. A black choker at her throat and a spray of orange flowers in the corner finish it off.

The dotted background is the real work here - hundreds of tiny cream flecks on green that will need patience and good light to sort. The face itself is broken into blocks of colour rather than smooth shading, so it builds a bit like a mosaic once you get going.

Nice one for anyone who likes their puzzles with a bit of fashion history in them, or just fancies something a bit different from the usual cottage-and-countryside scene.
