Time Away - Canoe at Sunset

The canoes are pulled up on the shore, the kettle is on the stones by the fire, and the last of the sunset is turning the sky pink over the mountains. Two paddlers are still out on the water, in no hurry to come back, while the log cabin has its lights on ready for them.

Autumn colour is at its best on the far bank, a loon spreads its wings on the lake, and a coyote and her pups have wandered down to the water's edge to see who has arrived. Nobody is going anywhere soon!
