Evening at the mill house, and somebody indoors has just lit the lamps. Smoke goes straight up from the stone chimney, the wheel turns beside the stream, and two ducks are working their way across the still water at the bottom of the picture while the sky above turns to cream and gold.

The water takes back the sky, the lamps and the whole house, so the lower third is a soft mirror of the upper. Finished size 49 x 69cm
