Disney Mickey and Minnie in Italy

Mickey has the wheel of a varnished mahogany launch with Minnie beside him in her sunhat, and everyone else has found a boat of their own: Donald rowing Daisy about under a pale blue parasol, Pluto sitting up very pleased with himself in a dinghy on the tow rope, Chip and Dale afloat in a crate of flowers. Behind them the harbour town climbs the hillside, café awnings out and shutters thrown open, a castle on the headland above.

Evening light on the water, coral and ochre houses over turquoise, and a hundred little moored boats along the quay. Finished size 69 x 49cm
