Jungle crammed right up to the frame — a gorilla peering through palm fronds, a chimpanzee, a white egret, a blue morpho butterfly, a toucan, tree frogs and croton leaves in yellow and red. Along the top horizon Charles Lynn Bragg sets a grey city skyline and a yellow bulldozer pushing in behind the elephant, giraffe and zebra; he painted it in 1986 and meant the point to be obvious.
It runs green on green for most of its area and the leaf shapes repeat, so it sorts by leaf edge and vein rather than by colour. Finished size 51 x 68cm.
Extremely dense foliage with similar green tones throughout, many hidden animals, and highly detailed overlapping vegetation makes piece differentiation very challenging.
