Forty-two little white bowls, each heaped with something from the back of the spice cupboard and named in four languages. Cinnamon sticks lean against their bowl of ground powder, a red chilli lies beside the flakes, and out come a garlic bulb, a knob of fresh ginger and a saffron crocus with its threads picked out.
Allspice at the top, wasabi at the bottom, all of it on plain linen. There will be at least three in there you have bought for years and never once seen whole!
Grid of distinct herbs and spices with varied colours and textures, but the uniform beige background adds moderate difficulty.
