Two owls have squeezed onto the same branch for the night, a red one and a pink one, pressed shoulder to shoulder with their round faces turned the same way and four yellow eyes wide open at whatever is out there.
Behind them the moon is up, and the tree they are sitting in has a little door at the bottom and windows lit all the way up the trunk. Somebody is home down there, and it is not the owls!
The stylised illustration has distinct colour blocks and clear shapes, but the blue tonal background with intricate bare tree branches adds moderate complexity.
