Smoke is curling from both chimneys, every window of the old mill cottage is glowing, and the water wheel is turning in the stream beside it. A pair of white ducks paddle past below the little waterfall, and the path up to the front door is lined so thickly with flowers you would have to push your way through.
Nicky Boehme paints it all in soft, hazy light, with a lamp already lit beside the path and the woods behind melting into mist. Finished size 69 x 48cm.
Plenty of colour in the flower beds and the glowing windows, but the misty trees and the thatch are soft, blended areas.
