The airman at the piano has got everyone singing, and it's not just the squaddies joining in - the barmaid's stopped pulling pints to listen, and even the collie by the fire looks like he's keeping time. Ray Cresswell has packed this pub scene with the sort of wartime detail that rewards a proper hunt: dartboard mid-throw, a Bass Mild Ale advert over the bar, RAF caps piled on the table, and a Lancaster framed in the window behind the pumps.
It's a busy build. Khaki and RAF blue repeat across a dozen figures, so you'll want to sort by uniform colour and work outward from the piano group before tackling the bar and fireplace at either end.
Good one for anyone who likes their puzzles with a story in them - the sort of pub singalong scene that's easy to lose an evening to.
Repeated khaki and blue uniforms across many similarly posed figures make sorting tricky despite the clear focal groups.
