It's been a big week for new arrivals, with Ravensburger dominating the shelves and House of Puzzles slipping in two proper charmers alongside them. There's a bit of everything here — Disney nostalgia, a dice-rolling fantasy crossover, a gorgeous round art print, and pieces sized for both steady hands and first-timers.
Disney Favourites, Two Ways
If you're the sort of puzzler who likes a proper marathon, Disney Scrapbook is the one to clear an evening for. At 2000 pieces it's built for slow, satisfying progress rather than a single sitting, and a scrapbook-style Disney montage gives you dozens of small, familiar details to hunt for as you go — the kind of puzzle where you keep saying "oh, I remember that bit" long after you meant to stop for the night.
Disney Photographs takes a slightly different tack at 1500 pieces, leaning into a photo-collage look that rewards a bit of careful sorting before you dive in. It's a nice middle ground if 2000 pieces feels like too much commitment but you still want that lingering, work-on-it-over-a-week feel. Both are part of Ravensburger's ever-growing Ravensburger range, and both come at prices that make picking up two far less painful than it should be.
A Puzzle for Dreamers and Adventurers
Daydream is the sort of 1000-piece we always end up recommending to someone who wants a puzzle that's genuinely relaxing rather than a test of endurance. There's nothing frantic about it — it's the kind of image you can lose an afternoon in without once looking at the clock, which is really the whole point of a daydream in the first place.
At the opposite end of the mood spectrum sits Dungeons & Dragons Quest Accepted, also 1000 pieces, and very much aimed at the tabletop crowd. It's a fun bit of crossover appeal — we don't see a huge number of D&D puzzles come through, so this one's likely to disappear fast among gamers who fancy a different kind of quest for the weekend.
Something Round and Radiant
Round puzzles always catch the eye simply for breaking the rectangle habit, and Little Sun Feel by Diana Ejaita earns its spot on the wall as much as on the table. At 500 pieces it's a manageable weekend project, but it's the artwork doing the heavy lifting here — Ejaita's bold, warm style stands apart from the usual puzzle fare, and a round format suits that kind of striking, poster-worthy design.
It's the sort of puzzle you finish and then genuinely don't want to take apart.
House of Puzzles: Big Pieces, Cosy Scenes
From the House of Puzzles range, Animal Antics by Helen Isdale is a genuinely useful one to have in stock — just 100 XXL pieces, chunky and easy to handle, it's ideal for anyone puzzling with less-than-perfect eyesight, younger family members, or simply anyone who wants a proper win in an hour rather than a week. Isdale's playful animal illustration style makes it a cheerful one too, not just a practical one.
For something with more scope but still that big-piece comfort, No. 22 – Toymaker's Workshop by Tracy Hall gives you 500 large pieces of a wonderfully detailed, nostalgic workshop scene. It's got that House of Puzzles knack for cramming a room full of little story details into one image, which makes for a properly absorbing build without straining your eyes over tiny pieces.
