It's a quiet evening and she has found the best seat in the house: the windowsill, bare feet up, book open on her knee. Outside the arched window the night sky is full of the most extraordinary visitors! Two huge whales drift past the planets, a purple octopus stretches out a curious arm, and a jellyfish floats by as if it does this every night.
Leafy plants frame the whole scene in teal, orange and violet, so the window feels like a little doorway to somewhere else. Is she reading about all this, or is the story simply spilling out of the pages?
Bold outlined shapes and a distinct central window make the picture easy to read, but the busy patterned leaves around the border and the many similar stars and planets add some tricky areas.
