Dominic Davison's seascape won't stay in its frame! The sea is pouring over the bottom edge in a little waterfall, a crab has clambered out onto the shelf, and the gulls have flown straight out of the picture, one of them settling on top of the old globe. Inside the frame the sun is going down behind a tall ship, and the cottage beside the lighthouse sits snug on its clifftop.
Along the shelf there's a ship in a bottle, a row of leather-bound books, seashells, a starfish and a ship's lantern, with an anchor hung on the wall above. Finished size 69 x 48cm.
Lots of distinct objects along the shelf and a clear lighthouse and cliff, but the sea, the sky and the patterned wallpaper are wide areas of similar tone.
