A tigress lies half-hidden under the jungle leaves with her cub tucked in against her shoulder, and the pair of them are looking straight back at you. She's calm and watchful, while the cub looks as though it has only just woken up and isn't at all sure about visitors. Howard Robinson fills every gap around them with glossy leaves and white blossom.
Butterflies settle on the leaves, a little blue bird perches in the bottom corner and a golden one keeps watch from a branch at the top. Finished size 85 x 61cm.
