A pink giraffe covered in hearts stretches its neck above a flamingo, a prowling leopard, and a rooster perched on a golden urn. Behind them, a grand neoclassical arch sits half-swallowed by tropical foliage — bonsai trees, banana plants, cypress trees — while a scarlet macaw eyes proceedings from the upper left and birds scatter across a pastel sky. A classical stone statue stands quietly to one side, unbothered by all of it.
This is André Sanchez's Fauna Fantasies series from Heye — richly layered collage-style artwork that mixes antique cartography, surreal colour choices, and natural history illustration into something that doesn't quite fit any single category. The pink-on-teal palette is striking, and sorting the botanicals from the architecture will keep you busy for a while.
At 1000 pieces, the density of overlapping elements and the subtle colour shifts across the foliage make this a proper sit-down build rather than a quick afternoon finish.
Extremely dense collage composition with overlapping tropical foliage, subtle colour transitions between greens and teals, and many similarly-textured botanical elements that are hard to distinguish during assembly.
