DoodleTown: Viking Voyage by Dave Whamond - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Cobble Hill)

Two dragon-headed longships have squared up to each other, red sail against orange, while a crew clambers over the rigging mending a rip in the patchwork quilt they're using as a sail. Looks like a stray trapeze artist is to blame.

Above the masts a rainbow arcs across the sky as lightning cracks near a winged figure who seems to be in charge of the weather, and down in the water a sea monster keeps one eye fixed on the dragon-prowed ship as though she's deciding what to do next. Off to one side, a raft of sheep and rabbits drift past with a picnic hamper, entirely unbothered by any of it.

Dave Whamond has filled the scene with these small sight gags, so it suits anyone who likes a cartoon puzzle with plenty to spot rather than one big view. Cobble Hill's random-cut pieces add their own twist too, each one an odd shape instead of the usual grid, which makes sorting by picture rather than piece shape the better plan here.
