DoodleTown: Bookshop Bedlam by Dave Whamond - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle (Cobble Hill)

A dragon puppet is bursting out of a book on the front table while a cat takes a flying leap for the chandelier and a man in the "Do It Yourself Books" corner totters under a stack of hardbacks. This is Bookshop Bedlam, Dave Whamond's cartoon take on a bookshop where nobody's minding the shelves properly.

Every section has its own joke going on. Self Help sits next to Gardening, there's a raccoon browsing the Mystery aisle by torchlight, and a spiral staircase crammed with readers who don't appear to be watching their step. Down at ground level there's a "Meet the Author" table, a dog balancing books on its head, and cats tucked into pretty much every gap going - the piano, the ladder, the armchair by the window.

The 1000 pieces are cut in Cobble Hill's random shapes rather than a grid, which suits a scene this busy - there's no straight lines to follow, just colour and character to sort by. A poster's included if you fancy a reference for tracking down that stray grey cat.
