A butterfly painted the way somebody would paint a sunrise, so the wings are not really any one colour at all. They open across the whole picture in violet, emerald and gold with the spots picked out darker along the edges, and the ground behind melts from coral through amber into pink without ever settling.
Blended colour everywhere with almost no hard edges outside the wings. Finished size 69 x 48cm.
The background is a continuous blend with no boundaries, so almost all the progress is in the wings.
