A pale bear has come down the trunk of an old mossy tree and stopped halfway, one paw round the bark, looking out at you through the leaves. Behind him, half-swallowed by ivy, stands a carved and painted house front — a great face in blue and red with its eyes wide open.
Two watchers, then — the bear in the leaves and the face behind them — and neither of them blinks.
Rich detail in the forest foliage and totem pole provides good visual anchors, but the predominantly green palette means many similar-toned areas.
