A woman's face comes through a great burst of feathers, ink and colour — eyes lowered, lips picked out in gold, everything around her breaking into pattern. Blue and orange plumes sweep back off her head, and fine pen lines run through them like stitching.
Down the lower half the paint has been allowed to run, long drips of gold and brown reaching towards the bottom edge, with coffee-coloured splashes thrown across the white behind her.
