Song of the Universe

Three wolves stand along a snowy ridge with their heads right back, singing at a night sky that has put on a proper show for them: a huge cratered moon low on the left, ribbons of pink and blue aurora, stars behind all of it. A fourth just stands and watches.

Out over the mountains the Earth itself is coming up, blue and white beneath its swirl of cloud, and below the ridge the land runs flat and quiet to a line of black pines.
