A fox is curled up asleep in a nest of winter foliage — thistles, snowberries, and frost-bleached oak leaves — while a full moon hangs low and bright stars scatter across a deep blue sky above. On the side panel visible on the box, a barn owl peers out from among irises and golden grasses, its feathers picked out in warm amber tones. The artwork has a strong Art Nouveau feel, with flat decorative shapes and intricate botanical detail filling every corner.
This is a set of three 500-piece puzzles, each one a separate scene from the same illustrated world. They sit at a comfortable difficulty — the rich colour palette and distinct subject matter in each image make sorting straightforward, though the botanical borders and night sky areas will keep you honest. Good for evenings when you want something absorbing but not punishing.
The finished images are well worth framing — the fox in particular would look good on a wall.
Each puzzle has clear focal subjects (fox, owl) with distinct colour contrast, but the intricate botanical borders and dark starry sky areas contain subtle tonal variation that will require careful sorting.
