New This Week: 27 April – 4 May 2026
This week's new arrivals have a wonderfully British feel to them — and a story behind them that's hard not to get excited about. All four puzzles we're adding to the shop this week were revealed at the 2026 UK Nationals Speed Puzzle Championship, where over 600 competitive puzzlers took part , and Ravensburger, as exclusive sponsors, developed five puzzles — all kept strictly under wraps until the clock in each category began. Three of the four featured here come in at 500 pieces, one steps up to 1,000 — and every one of them is worth a closer look.
Bird Colour Wheel — 500 Pieces (£14.47)
The Bird Colour Wheel celebrates colour, creativity, and the beauty of British wildlife, with dozens of hand-painted birds arranged in a mesmerising circular spectrum — from soft pastels to bold, vivid hues. The artist behind it is Jim Moir, better known to many as Vic Reeves, the TV personality from Sky Arts' Painting Birds with Jim & Nancy Moir. The circular format adds an extra layer of challenge and visual appeal , making this one a genuine talking point on the table — and equally striking framed on the wall when you're done.

The Need for Speed, by acclaimed artist Kevin Walsh, transports you to the golden age of 1930s Grand Prix racing — mechanics scrambling in the pit lane as powerful vintage race cars thunder past on a rain-slicked track, with a striking blue Bugatti taking centre stage. Kevin Walsh has been followed by puzzle fans for many years, and his scenes often feature aviation and motoring themes. At just £10.47, this is a cracking pick for any motorsport enthusiast or anyone who likes their puzzles with a healthy dose of atmosphere.

View puzzle →Old Father Thames — 1,000 Pieces (£14.47)
This Ravensburger 1,000-piece puzzle captures the River Thames as both a living landscape and a timeless storyteller — winding from its beginnings in the Cotswolds to its grand arrival in London and out to the North Sea, through charming towns, historic landmarks, and vibrant wildlife. The artwork is by Jane Tomlinson, and the detail is extraordinary: at the heart of the image sits "Old Father Thames" himself — a mythical figure symbolising the spirit of the river — while along the way you'll spot colourful narrowboats, graceful swans, kingfishers in flight, and nods to classic British literature including The Wind in the Willows and Three Men in a Boat. If you want a puzzle that rewards proper study as you go, this is it.

There's something charmingly self-aware about a jigsaw puzzle about jigsaw puzzling. The Jigsaw Puzzle Competition was designed by artist Eleanor Tomlinson and featured in one of the solo qualifying rounds at the UK Nationals — Eleanor herself describing it as capturing "the energy and chaos of a speed puzzling competition… with a few fun and quirky extras." This is the fourth puzzle Eleanor has designed for Ravensburger , and at £10.47, it would make a genuinely witty gift for any puzzle lover with a sense of humour about the hobby.
A puzzle about competitive puzzling, designed by an artist who has now made four of them for Ravensburger — and used as an actual competition puzzle at the UK Nationals. That's a bit special.

All four puzzles are from our Ravensburger range, and if you've puzzled with the brand before, you'll know what to expect: pieces stamped with such precision that a quiet "click" can be heard when one fits into another — that's Ravensburger's SoftClick Technology. The puzzles are made from strong premium-grade cardboard with a linen finish print to minimise glare, and are made from at least 70% recycled cardboard. Good pieces, good print, good conscience.
