An oversized armchair sits centre stage, every inch of it covered in a different pattern — a diamond-grid seat cushion in reds, oranges and purples, a floral backrest in teal and gold, and arms that curl into decorative scrolls painted with folk-art motifs. A single patchwork pillow leans against the back. The whole thing looks like it was designed by someone who couldn't decide on a favourite colour and eventually decided they didn't have to.
This is part of Heye's Relax! Quadrat (square format) series, illustrated by Victoria Nahum. The dark, swirling background keeps the eye on the chair itself, but there's plenty going on in the corners too. With so many distinct colour zones — teal, crimson, lime green, deep violet — sorting is actually quite manageable for a 1000-piece build. The tricky part is the seat cushion, where the diamond pattern repeats across a broad area of similar tones.
Square-format puzzles need a square board or a bit of planning, so worth checking your mat or table before you start. Finished size is 50 x 50 cm.
While the bold colour zones aid sorting, the repeating diamond-grid seat cushion and intricate swirling background share similar tonal values across large areas, making assembly genuinely challenging.
