Twelve puppies push head-first through torn sheets of coloured paper — a French bulldog through lilac, a shih tzu through lime, a yawning jack russell through orange, a spaniel-eared pup through yellow. Each sits in its own flat square of colour with the ragged paper edges curling back around it.
The dogs go together quickly; the plain colour blocks are where the time goes, since a red piece could belong to any of three squares. Finished size 49 x 36cm.
The photographed puppies are easy, but the twelve flat colour panels repeat and have to be matched by tone alone.
