It's late, the stars are out and every window in the old tree is glowing. Little red and orange roofs perch on the branches like pointed hats, ladders hang from the boughs, and there's a clock set right into the trunk so nobody up there loses track of bedtime.
Stand in the cool grass and you can just make out a tiny green door among the roots, an owl keeping watch and lanterns swaying from the twigs. Who lives up there, and are they expecting visitors?
The glowing red-roofed houses and the clock give clear focal points, but the large areas of dark teal sky and grassy foreground have subtle tonal shifts.
