There's something wonderfully peaceful about this scene - a sunlit garden viewed through an open window, with a cat contentedly napping on the windowsill amongst afternoon tea and a slice of cake. The rolling hills beyond are absolutely bursting with colour, from vibrant wildflowers to cherry blossom trees in full bloom.
What makes this particularly lovely is how the artist has layered the scene - you've got the intimate foreground with its beautiful blue and white pottery vase overflowing with poppies and daisies, then the easel painting in the middle distance, and finally those gorgeous flower-filled hills stretching away to the horizon. It's like looking at a painting within a painting.
The 100 XL pieces means each piece is larger and easier to handle, making this ideal for anyone who finds standard pieces a bit fiddly. The bold colours and distinct areas - from the rich reds of the window frame to the blues of the pottery and that sprawling garden scene - give you plenty of visual variety to work with.
Rich detail with many small elements across foreground still life and distant coastal landscape, though strong colour variation helps.
