Blue tits, robins, sparrows and a pair of hares are all labelled by hand across this winter nature study, along with holly, ivy, hazel catkins and autumn leaves still clinging on. It reads like a page from an old naturalist's notebook, with neat little captions under each bird and plant rather than a single busy scene.
That labelling is what makes it a good one to sort by — work section by section around the botanical names rather than trying to tackle the whole cream background at once. The birds and berries give you plenty of colour to anchor on, even where the background gets pale and busy with twigs.
A mini poster is included in the box, handy for checking where everything sits as you go, or for framing once the puzzle's done.
The pale cream background dotted with fine twigs and small labelled illustrations makes sorting tricky despite the colourful birds.
