Bonnie and Clyde lean into the harness and the furrow turns over behind them, the ploughman walking steady in the wake of the blade. Gulls have come inland for it and are dropping onto the fresh soil almost before it settles, and a hare breaks away across the stubble.
Poppies and elderflower crowd the fence line in front, geese potter about in the long grass, and a cock pheasant has come up onto a post to watch the whole business!
