The snow has settled on the old fence and the whole garden has turned up for breakfast! A cardinal pair have claimed the best spot on the left, a blue jay is holding court on the rail, and a robin is perched on a twig, looking pleased with himself. Up in the corner, a wide-eyed squirrel seems quite sure he wasn't expecting this many guests.
Chickadees, goldfinches and woodpeckers fill in the gaps between the drifts. A coil of rope hangs on the barn wall and a few golden leaves are still clinging on. Can you spot the red berries?
The brightly coloured birds make clear focal points, but the large areas of white snow and the many similar autumn leaves and wood tones add some tricky stretches.
