Who can enter
Open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over, except employees of the promoter and their immediate families. You do not need an account to enter.
How to enter — and what it costs
Entry is free and no purchase is necessary. There is no paid route to enter and no way to buy extra chances: complete the entry form at puzzlesgalore.co.uk/pages/win-puzzles with your name, email address and answer. That is the only entry route, and it is free to everyone.
One entry per person per monthly round. Everyone who enters has exactly the same chance of winning. Entries are not weighted, and nothing you do — spending money, sharing, following us, or being a long-standing customer — improves your odds. Entries do not roll over: each round starts fresh.
Entries may not be made by an agent, syndicate or automated entry service. Where we reasonably believe several entries or memberships have been created by or for the same person — including multiple email addresses that resolve to the same mailbox — we may treat them as a single entry.
When each round opens and closes
A new round opens at 00:00 on the 1st of each calendar month and closes at 23:59 on the 21st of that same month (UK time) — three weeks to enter. The draw takes place at approximately 09:00 on the 23rd, two days after entries close. Entries received after a round has closed go into the next round, which opens on the 1st of the following month.
The prizes
In each monthly round we award:
- One first prize: £50 of Puzzles Galore store credit.
- Three runner-up prizes: 500 PuzzlePoints each (worth £5 to spend at Puzzles Galore).
Prizes are as described and can only be spent at Puzzles Galore. There is no cash alternative, and prizes are not transferable. We may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary. Store credit and PuzzlePoints do not expire.
Everyone who enters also receives 25 PuzzlePoints. These are added to a free Puzzle Club account under your entry email address, and you'll need to sign in to spend them. This is a thank-you for entering, not a prize, and it does not affect your chance of winning.
How the winners are chosen
Winners are selected at random by computer from all valid entries received in that round, using a cryptographically secure random number generator. There is no judging and no element of skill — your answer on the entry form does not affect your chance of winning. Each draw records the number of entries, a fingerprint of the exact entry list, and the time it ran; we keep this as evidence that the draw was fair, and you're welcome to ask to see it.
How and when winners are told
Winners are notified by email to the address used to enter, within 5 days of the closing date. There is nothing to claim. The £50 store credit and the runners-up PuzzlePoints are added to the winners' accounts automatically at the time of the draw — you don't need to reply, and you can't miss a deadline. If a prize cannot be awarded because the email address is invalid or the entry breached these terms, we may redraw.
Publishing winners' names
We publish the first name and last initial of each first-prize winner (for example, "Jan K.") on our winners page, together with the month and the number of entries. The surname and county of major prizewinners are available on request by emailing contact@puzzlesgalore.co.uk.
You can ask us not to. Email contact@puzzlesgalore.co.uk at any time — before or after the draw — and we will not publish your name, or will reduce what we publish to an initial. This does not affect your chance of winning, your prize, or your entry in any way. Where a winner objects, we will still provide their details to the Advertising Standards Authority if asked. We rely on our legitimate interest in showing that a valid award took place; see our Privacy Policy.
We do not use winners in any other publicity without asking them first.
Your details
We use your details to run the draw, to award your PuzzlePoints, and — only if you asked us to — to send you marketing you can unsubscribe from at any time. Ticking the marketing box is optional and is not a condition of entering. See our Privacy Policy.
General
We may disqualify any entrant we reasonably believe has breached these terms, and require the return of any prize. Our decision is final. We may amend these terms, but changes take effect from the following round only and never mid-round. If a round has to be cancelled for reasons beyond our control, we will say so on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
