This puzzle shows families enjoying a day out at a classic car show taking place beneath the famous Tyne Bridge. The Tyne Bridge is a through arch bridge over the River Tyne in North East England, linking Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead. At the time of its construction, the Tyne Bridge was the world's longest single span bridge and was officially opened on 10 October 1928 by King George V.

Derek Roberts



Derek Roberts was born in Birkenhead in 1945, and has had a fascination with all things mechanical from a very young age. After training at Birkenhead Art School in the 1960s, he was accepted to work as a car stylist with Ford Motor Company.


Roberts is best known for his nostalgic scenes depicting motorsport and vehicles from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as modern subjects. His paintings are characterised by their attention to detail, technical accuracy, and warm, evocative atmosphere.


In addition to his work as a painter, Roberts also enjoys teaching watercolour to adult groups, and has a passion for landscape painting. He has worked on numerous commissions for private clients, including depictions of classic cars, sailing vessels, aircraft, steam locomotives, trucks, and portraits.


Roberts' work has been featured in galleries and exhibitions around the UK, and his paintings can be found in private collections all over the world. He is highly regarded in the world of automotive art, and his passion for all things mechanical continues to inform and inspire his art to this day.
